By default the system pushes all branches when you push to upstream. You can configure push so that it only pushes certain refspecs i.e. certain branches, tags etc...

It would be really helpful, if I could configure to:

- be asked each time if that is what I want this time
- be asked which branch to push (with a good suggestion i.e. the current local branch)

because my intention on what to push might change very frequently sometimes and its cumbersome to always change the config.

I would like that. I already pushed my local branch to upstream on multiple occasions ... embarrassing :)

You can tweak it if you go the long way through 'Team > Remote... > Push'. Well, unless that wizard is the thing you're trying to streamline...

"Push branch" allows to push any branch you want to push
