Description Martin Fanmail CLA 2011-08-19 07:50:06 EDT
Build Identifier: I20110613-1736

On an uncustomized Eclipse installation (1280*1024 resolution), the find/replace window may hide the regular expressions option as long as the dialogue is not resized. There is no hint about possibly hidden options, such as a scroll bar in the options section. Suggestion is to define a minimum size for the Direction and Options sections.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Hit Ctrl + F to open find/replace dialogue
2. Resize dialogue vertically
3. Options will hide/unhide without notice

Is this with a fresh workspace or did you change the resolution?
Please attach a screenshot.

I created a new workspace and it didn't happen again. The find/replace dialoge window size seems to be saved in the workspace properties.

Nevertheless this is quite confusing because you can't see why the option was missing.

It's there at the beginning and we allow to make it small for those who never need Regex.

nice, here's the solution for those who never look back ;-)

Seriously, the last screenshot shows no horizontal line closing the sections Direction and Scope. One could guess that something's missing here, which you couldn't in the first one.

But thanks for your time and quick reaction. Maybe this discussion will help someone to find lost options some time.

regards

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got
resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some
reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it.
The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you
still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is
(for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

If the bug is still relevant, please remove the stalebug whiteboard tag.
