For Eclipse Helios GNU-ARM-Eclipse plugin was available making development of ARM Cortex M3 projects with open source software.

Now plugin seems dead (do not work with Indigo), and CDT Cross GCC target seems to be the way, altough more embeded features allowing compilation from C/C++ via .o, .elf, .hex will be needed.
