*** Bug 356829 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 357505 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** This issue seems to be mainly about 4.2, but in 3.8 the splash screen still says 'INDIGO'. Will this be fixed as part of this issue or shall I open a specific bug for 3.8? I think this bug can cover both streams. We'll do the mechanical (JUNO, 2011, 2012) updates on both streams in the short term. We can use this bug to track those updates. We can track any "freshening up" and new icon work (after M4) in bug 341645. Created attachment 207431 [details]

I've attached the updated splashes for both 2011 and 2012. Per discussion with John: since the 4.2 release is the release train platform, we have reverted to using a release number (3.8) on the 3.x splash stream. The 4.x splash now uses the release train name, JUNO. These need to be released and verified. Whenever the release number/name change, we have to make sure the build id is positioned correctly as well. splash.bmp gets released to org.eclipse.platform build id location is defined in org.eclipse.sdk (I don't remember exactly where at the moment but there is a property for it) Talked to Eric. He will make sure these get in. Unfortunately I can't (no commit rights on platform) so I'm (appropriately for thanksgiving) punting this to Paul...;-). The build ID doesn't obscure anything in the new splash screens. Ironically, not yet ... in Jan I'll update the screens with (c) 2012, and we might even have new graphics. PW I've released the (c) 2012 graphics.
