This bug report exists to capture the details of the migration of User Assistance sources from CVS to Git. I would like to do this as soon as possible but I am aware that 3.7.1 is in the endgame and do not want to do anything that would impact our ability to make bug fixes to 3.7.1 or which would change anything related to the build while we are in the endgame.

My current thinking is to do the migration when 3.7.1 is stable but before Juno Milestone 2. Kim, do you think that this leaves enough time or would it be better to wait until Juno milestone 3?

After discussing this with Kim we have decided to start the migration on Sunday August 21st. The User Assistance CVS projects will no longer be writable after the migration starts and the Git repository will be live some time on August 22nd if all goes well.

I will write up some notes on the Wiki and make an announcement to the platform-ua-dev mail group.
