According to the javadocs for @XmlJavaTypeAdapter, it may be used with @XmlElementRef(s) (as well as with @XmlAttribute, @XmlElement(s), and @XmlAnyElement).

The oxm XML metadata does not support this use, as xml-elements elements have no xml-java-type-adapter elements as the others do.

(Not sure how I missed this when entering the previous bug with xml-element-ref(s).  I could have sworn I checked every attribute type.)

Fixed; reverted oxm schema to not include adapters in xml-elements.  Adapters can still be used in OXM files but they not part of the schema.
