Description Christine CLA 2011-07-27 05:30:33 EDT
Build Identifier: I20110613-1736

I'm use to press ctrl-shift-s a lot, to save all files. Since I upgraded my Ubuntu to 11.04, more often than not the keys don't work. Also, the save button is grayed out, the only way to save an edited file is to close it and press "yes" on the save on close dialog.
I use gnome, not unity, on a 64bits asus laptop. I use nouveau, not nvidia drivers, because I can't install the nvidia drivers.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1.edit a java source file
2.press ctrl-shift-s
3.see that file is not saved

Which Eclipse version are you using? Eclipse 4.1, 3.7, 3.6?

Observed this on

  Fedora 17
  Running KDE
  Eclipse 3.8.0 (Juno) - Build id: I20120608-1200

Happens intermittently.

It's as if the modification of the file in the editor is not noticed by Eclipse.

The Tab is "starred" but the file cannot be saved explicitly.

CTRL+S - Does nothing
File>Save - Is greyed out

Closing the tab asks you whether you want to save though.

I just now noticed:

CTRL+SHIFT+S - May work or else Eclipse allows saving the file after some
               time or some window shuffling.

Quite possibly a duplicate of bug#361136
Comment 4 David Tonhofer CLA 2012-12-21 07:51:28 EST
Ok, changing to the Team Synchronization Window then back to the Editor window makes the edited file saveable. And the file is non-saveable if you use one of the automatic code source modification features.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
