Since switching to eGit my Eclipse instance is taking up more than double the amount of memory (viewed in the task manager) than it used to. (300M -> 700M+) I'm not sure which operations/views specifically are causing the problems, but I notice that doing a Synchronize with Workspace will add about 250M.

Seems to be the same issue as in Bug 352282

I think the Synchronize View is definitely one problem area, but there are others. For instance, see Bug 352282 comment 3. And currently I am up to over 700M and I haven't used the Synchronize view at all.

Editors also appear to be leaked according to bug 353147.
Comment 4 Matthias Sohn CLA 2011-08-03 07:16:13 EDT
Also history view seems to eat a lot of memory
Comment 5 Remy Suen CLA 2011-08-12 16:36:24 EDT
I have identified a problem with EGit on Eclipse 4.x. Perhaps 3.x users are having the same same problem, I haven't verified that yet, please see bug 354658.

Is it better now?
