Actually Sun's problem if Eclipse is using Java's zip functionality but thought 
y'all should report it. Other zip tools (winzip, powerarchiver)don't have a 
problem with umlauts (ä,ü,ö). In eclipse gebäude is translated into geb+n[with 
a squiggly on top]ude. For us as programmers this isn't a problem because we 
never use umlauts, however the users of our product most certainly will. When 
the filenames are 'destroyed' then other tools using the files have a problem.

Closing.  It is known that Winzip and java.util.zip use different encodings. 
Unfortunately, there is no fixed specification for this, so it's a matter of
opinion which one is right (and we can't be compatible with both).
