I have a 30k line xml in my root directory.
from the shell git diff and git commit performs instantly.
from eclipse it takes about 4 minutes for each task.



Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.add a big text file in project directory
2. try git diff or git commit from eclispe and from shell
3. compare performance

seems to be several issue with egit unexpected slow downs. There is probably some common root causes.
