At least for the update of the Maven Runtime Embedder, this is not supported via the Maven Discovery Page, because it will hide everything which is installed (even if that is installed in a lower version). This is due to, how the repository at sonatype is organized (each version has a different update site). Please also remove the update sites, when uninstalling a plugin. Otherwise each new update will lead to a new update site.

Even though this bug is old, it's still applicable. And the fact that it hsa three duplicates shows that it is of interest, so please consider reopening it.
