The REST API for git has materialized, at least for 0.2.

This bug is about continuing the effort made in bug 343367. The API which hasn't been covered there or has been added since should be documented.

Fixed, but I haven't touched git config (bug 350280). If I missed anything feel free to open separate bugs.
