Hi,

In my company there is a proxy to access internet. This proxy requires credentials. I have configured manual provider in Eclipse global configuration (General->Network Connections). It works fine for update sites, but there are some other actions in the IDE that still trigger a dialog box asking for proxy credentials (sometimes several times before it is content).
Here are examples:
  - opening marketplace, I need to enter credentials one time for each market. If I click cancel everything seems to work except that the bottom icons are not displayed
  - opening an XML document with an external XSD. I guess Eclipse try to download the XSD on the internet but do not use credentials of the global configuration

This is not a blocking issue but it is very annoying.

Increased priority because many users in my company are annoyed. The bug can be seen with Eclipse 3.5 to 3.7.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

If the bug is still relevant, please remove the "stalebug" whiteboard tag.
