Description Jacques Bouthillier CLA 2011-06-13 07:43:34 EDT
- Performing a FORMAL review and I got the following error:
"The resource is locked .." I was the only user in this review. Then, I try to close the pop-up window and I cannot close it, the pop-up always showed until I closed Eclipse.

Note: when performing the review, I had the file opened in a notepad editor. I don't know if this can be the reason , but in any ways, I cannot kill the dialogue error window. I have to remove the lock from the folder to be able to continue.

R4E lock error window
Comment 2 Sebastien Dubois CLA 2011-06-13 10:57:23 EDT
It is not related to the file you had open.

This is likely the consequence of another error. Sometime when an exception happen, the .lck file lingers and prevents access to it subsequently. The only solution in his case is to remove the .lck file manually. The real solution is to minimize the other errors so that this does not happen.

Jacques, please clarify what issue(s) are addressed here.
is it the fact that you were not able to close the dialogue ? what else ?
Comment 4 Sebastien Dubois CLA 2011-06-29 12:09:03 EDT
I will close this one. If it happens again, please open a new bug and include the list of exceptions generated during the run so we can link this with a previous error
Comment 5 Jacques Bouthillier CLA 2011-06-29 15:10:50 EDT
The real problem here is the fact we cannot close the dialogue window popping-up. The only way to get rid of it is to kill Eclipse which is not acceptable. WE talked about it at the section meeting.
Some investigation is needed to know why we cannot kill the modal dialogue!
Comment 6 Sebastien Dubois CLA 2011-09-07 15:17:56 EDT
I was able to reproduce the lock error, but the error dialog only appears once and can be closed normally. I also reviewed the code that could be involved when ResourceHandlingException is triggered, but could not find any place where the exception would reoccur in a loop.

So, as agreed with the other team members, I will close this bug for now. We will monitor the situation and reactivate it if we see this again. Also, please add exception data to the bug if it happens again
