I'm using the p2-publisher application to publish a p2-repository. The call to the publisher looks like:
   java -jar $launcher \
   -application org.eclipse.equinox.p2. publisher.FeaturesAndBundlesPublisher \
   -metadataRepository myRepositoryDir \
   -artifactRepository myRepositoryDir \
   -source mySource \
   -reusePackedFiles \
   -compress \
   -publishArtifacts

The generated p2-repository contains pack200 artifacts located next to the jarred artifacts but the artifacts metadata (artifacts.jar) doesn't have any information about the packed artifacts (property "publishPackFilesAsSiblings" set to "true", ... etc.). If I use "-reusePack200Files" instead "-reusepPackedFiles" in the publisher call then everything is fine. According to the p2-documentation both parameters should have the same effect.

Could you please indicate which doc you are referring to? It looks to me like you are confusing the help for the application and the doc for the ant task since help.eclipse.org does not mention any pack.gz related features for the app and I can only find a ref to reusePackedFiles in the description of the ant tasks.

That said, I think the ant tasks and the app should be made consistent wrt this option.

I was referring the publisher wiki page [1]. In this page both arguments are explained.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
