I've noticed it today, too.
Something interesting to note for troubleshooting: the duplicates don't seem to be multiple actual messages. For example, as an admin I see Delete links below each message; I noted that all the duplicates use the same message ID in the delete link, indicating that the database doesn't actually have duplicate messages.
I also deleted a message at one point today and the result was that all the duplicates went away. All of this suggests to me that the problem is somewhere in the web/view layer, not the DB.

This was an unexpected artifact of cleaning up the many(800+) entries for the Apricot forum.

Fixed.
