Description Chris Jerdonek CLA 2011-06-03 21:39:05 EDT
Build Identifier: M20110210-1200

Eclipse does not recognize the "SDK Location" preference for the Android Development Tools (ADT) Plugin the first time when Eclipse is started -- even though the preference value already exists. However, Eclipse recognizes the preference the second time the application attempts to access it.

If this is a bug with the ADT Plugin, let me know and I will report it there.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install the ADT Plugin for Eclipse from this site:

http://developer.android.com/sdk/eclipse-adt.html#installing

2. Set the "SDK Location" preference under the Eclipse preferences for "Android".

3. Restart Eclipse.

4. Go to the menu Window -> ""Android SDK and AVD Manager". Eclipse displays a dialog box with the following message:

"Location of the Android SDK has not been setup in the preferences."

5. Repeat step (4). Eclipse will load the plugin without any error (in particular without displaying the dialog box above).

I just want to clarify that this behavior occurs for me every time Eclipse is restarted -- not just the very first time it is restarted.

Also, I'm using this version of the ADT Plugin: 10.0.1.v201103111512-110841

Closing as NOT_ECLIPSE, I really don't think this is a bug with Eclipse, it sounds like an issue with how ADT initializes their preferences.

If there is an issue with the preferences support, it should be filed against Platform not PDE (plug-in development environment).

Thanks for the info. Will do next time.
