Description Benjamin Muskalla CLA 2011-06-03 11:19:09 EDT
We should provide feedback for the attachments operation when the user is about to drop the file on the task editor.

Similar to how GMail handles DnD of attachments: http://gmailblog.blogspot.com/2010/04/drag-and-drop-attachments-onto-messages.html
Comment 1 Steffen Pingel CLA 2011-06-05 12:03:38 EDT
That's nice. Sounds like a great idea to make DnD support for attachments more obvious.
Comment 2 Mik Kersten CLA 2011-07-07 13:50:49 EDT
As a desktop/native tool it seems to me that we should be using the native platform's support for indicating things like drop targets. This is a little subtle on Windows, but is consistent across all applications.
Comment 3 Benjamin Muskalla CLA 2011-09-15 12:25:01 EDT
Given that regular DnD operations work on big consistent areas (trees, tables, text areas) the native behavior makes sense. But the task editor doesn't look like a regular drop target in my eyes.
Comment 4 Mik Kersten CLA 2012-02-16 13:28:09 EST
True, it does not. But we do have the Attachments section, and it should be intuitive to drop things on that. I figure it's OK for the sections to have different drop behavior if needed as long as that's clear from the visual feedback.
