Description
Denis Roy
Found it: if you reply to a topic in the forum for which there are nntp replies that have not yet been imported, the NNTP export will omit the References: header, causing the nntp server to create a new thread. My reply in the topic below came in while a reply from Russel Bateman was already submitted via nntp. http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/t/245899/ I've changed the way we sync the nntp messages. Previously each www node would pick 10 random newsgroups every 2 minutes -- 30 newsgroups imported every 2 minutes. Technically, many minutes could pass before a group was processed. Now all the web nodes simply split the entire list of newsgroups and each perform a slice. All our groups will be verified every 2 minutes. *** Bug 364340 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Created attachment 208185 [details]
Gmane threading glitch
Apparently gmane can't even thread correctly :)
Maybe just my feeling, but it seemed to be quite good in the past months but recently I see much more un-parented replies again. Yes, it's gotten much much worse in recent days/weeks whereas it was working reasonably well before that. Something must have changed... I'm WONTFIX'ing my own bug. |
