I have a tabel with a custom variant "hmpf". I wanted to style the GridLines but it has no effect. After consolidating Tim we came to the conclusion that the variant inheritance for Table Sub Widget does not work.

Project to reproduce

This is a project to reproduce the bug. It creates a table and sets the variant. In the theme.css the gridlines are styled. As you can see it does not have any effect.

This bug is still valid after the client-side Tree/Table merge.

Chances are that this issue has been fixed with bug 324082. Could you please check again?

Please disregard comment #3, I was mistaken. The fix should be part of bug 362166.
