i just tried to file a report against wtp server tools, but the closest thing to wtp displayed in the "Supported Products" pane was "(WTP logo) Eclipse XML Editors and Tools".
and even the other products listed seem to be only a subset of the (eclipse.org) products installed.

Which "pane" do you mean? Something inside the IDE or bugzilla?

I think this is by the Mylyn. Please assign back to Platform UI if not.
Comment 3 Steffen Pingel CLA 2011-06-09 10:52:34 EDT
The Mylyn project only ships bug reporting mappings for features in the EPP Java package. In theory projects can easily contribute additional mappings through an extension point but in practice this has rarely happened (lack of documentation?).

David, is there interest in WTP to contribute these mappings? If Bugzilla products/components and WTP namespaces are fairly stable we could also add additional contributions to Mylyn. So far we have only covered features included in the Java EPP package.

I'll ask at WTP status meeting, and get back.

I looked in org.eclipse.epp.package.java plugin.xml to see an example of extension point, but didn't see it there. Do you "ship" it in a "mylyn bundle"?

I think if we in WTP did anything at all, it'd be via the EPP package.

But, if I'm missing the point or location, let me know.

I briefly thought about doing for Indigo, but then remembered we are past RC4 :) but might consider for Indigo maintenance, if something safe and easy.

Also, I see a lot of but reports that appear to be produced by Mylyn templates. So, is the extension point just "automating" something a user can set up themselves?

I'll take a look at this - and hopefully something for maintenance.
Comment 7 Steffen Pingel CLA 2011-08-30 17:15:28 EDT
I am moving this to webtools product. Please let me know if we can help out in any way.

obviously never looked at again
