Description Kevin Sawicki CLA 2011-05-24 14:24:45 EDT
Gravatars should be created and registered for all Eclipse project inbox e-mail addresses
now that the Mylyn task editor displays Gravatar images for assignee.

Gravatars are free to setup at http://www.gravatar.com and only require uploading an
image and e-mail address configmration.

Perhaps projects could you their custom icons overlayed on a mailbox icon as the
standard gravatar.

Mylyn gravatar support was added in bug343602 and bug345826

I think this would be better classified in PMI. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Not part of PMI. But I'll leave it in this category.

We have a lot of these "dummy" inboxes. These are, AFAIK, never captured in project metadata. I assume that Webmaster has a means of assembling the complete list if we need it.

I'm not convinced that there's a lot of value in doing this. These email addresses are only ever used in the Bugzilla context. Even if this is super simple via a web services interface that I'm not currently familiar with, this would still be a service that we'd have to build and maintain.

There's nothing stopping a project from doing this themselves.

Closing as WONTFIX. Reopen if you feel that I've underestimated the value.
