on SOLARIS:

DND copy in Navigator only works if you first hold the middle mouse button, then
hold CONTROL then release the middle mouse button at an appropriate target. It
will not work however if you first hold CONTROL, then hold the middle mouse
button, then release the middle mouse button at an appropriate target. Works
either way in Windows XP.

Navigator uses SWT mechanism to decide if a drop is copy or move.
SWT to investigate.

Solaris is no longer a supported platform.
