This works fine for me. Of course you need have an element selected in order to get 'Selected Resources' and 'Enclosing Projects' enabled. apparently i wasn't clear enough: i don't want to select an element first! that's the whole idea with this request. if i go into a project and am in the package explorer view, "enclosing project" is clearly the given context to search in -- no further selection should be necessary except to limit the scope further. similarily, being on the top level the given context would be "workspace" and gone into a working set this working set should be the scope (the obvious inconsistencies in use and content of the term "working set" throughout eclipse aside). simply put: maybe the default in this case should always be "selected resources" and use the context of the package view (or any other with that "go into" feature), ie workspace, working set, or project gone into, without requiring selecting anything. Search is connected to the outside world via selection and working sets. We won't start to make it dependent on special states of a view. |
