I think it would be useful if the Xtend2 code completion would propose the guillemot brackets within rich strings. The key accelerators are a bit too hidden for the uninitiated.

(When working in OS X using the en_US keyboard layout (with a physical de_CH layout in case that makes a difference) I cannot get the accelerator to work. '<' and '>' are Shift-, and Shift-. respectively. But Cmd-Shift-, and Cmd-Shift-. don't seem to work. But I suppose that may be a more general Eclipse issue.)

I've pushed just the mentioned proposal for the guillemots.
The other fancier stuff (i.e. FOR and IF templates) should be handled with the other still open ticket on templates.
