It would be great if there was some visual support for diffing versions of model elements, maybe using EMF Compare or something similar. This would help a lot in finding out what has been changed in model elements. Currently you have to open up a model element, look at the history and match the operations for yourself, which is tedious and fails completely when it comes to multiline textfields, as only the first 50 characters or something are shown.

As a possible solution I would imagine having two MEEditors open side-by-side, where added parts are marked green, deleted red and changed yellow or something the like.

I vote for this feature. We need it as well.
A possible approach would be calculating the version diff on the server and send a "diff model" to the client. EMF compare seams to provide all the necessary features, even UI representation for the diff model.
