I've noticed my error log filling up with errors like the following:

org.eclipse.xtext.xtend2.ui.builder.Xtend2BuilderParticipant  - Error compiling archive:file:/C:/workspaces/test3/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.pde.core/.bundle_pool/plugins/org.eclipse.xtext.generator_2.0.0.v201105030849.jar!/org/eclipse/xtext/generator/serializer/AbstractSemanticSequencer.xtend

My workspace has a target platform set which includes Xtext 2.0 M7. That is also the version deployed in the Eclipse installation itself. It seems like Xtext attempts to build the sources it finds on the classpath in the target platform.

added a guard for archive URIs as well as for IFile.isDerived.
