Since SessionSingletonBase is not meant to be used as a base class anymore, we should rename it to avoid confusion.
I'd suggest to introduce a new class with a more suitable name such as SessionSingletonUtil or SingletonUtil.
The existing SSB would be changed to delegate to this new class and marked as deprecated.

SessionSingletonBase class has been replaced with SingletonUtil class as suggested. This class could handle application instances in the future too. Fixed with commit f112b496edf3582f46ce33a79b7b1b0af201a3c8.
