I am using 32-bit Windows XP SP 3, and the latest 1.6.0_25 JDK. I am using the latest Eclipse IDE for Java EE developers - Helios SR2, for Windows 32-bit. The problem is about the Project Explorer view, in the Java perspective. It is related with the way that the project tree is displayed, when there are nested subpackages.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new Java project, switch to using the Java perspective.
2. Create a new class - Test - in the package a.b.
3. Create a new class - Test2 - in the package a.b.c.

Observe that immediately after step 3, the project tree, in the Project Explorer view (we are using the default flat package presentation), shows the a.b.c artifacts twice: once under the node for the a.b package, and once separately - under it's own node. You can take a look at the attached screenshots. After a refresh operation, this is no longer present - the a.b subnode disappears.

Like that since 3.3.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
