Due working with gyrex it becomes necessary to simple queue a job for a single execution. We need to develop a job manager that can be used for this purpose. This manager should also be used by the scheduler.
It's also important to know an identifier for a created job to monitor its progress.
By the way there's a need to refractor some misleading namings in the IJobProvider API.

Mike, I committed the patch together with the rework for bug 329782. Thus, I had to modify it to fit the new context-first based APIs. Please see my comments there.
