Description Pawel Piech CLA 2011-04-29 17:07:40 EDT
Build id: I20110425-1800

Steps to reproduce:
- Create some breakpoints
- Create a couple of breakpoint working sets and add breakpoints to them.
- Select "Group by Breakpoint Working Sets"
- Select a working set in view.
- Select "Remove"
- In Remove Items dialog check: "Selected working sets(s)", and uncheck "All breakpoints...".
- Select OK.

Error dialog with following error message pops up (but working set is still removed): "'Delete Breakpoints' cannot be performed. Reason: Cannot complete operation because marker no longer exists."

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

In fact there is no issue with deleting working set but with deleting no breakpoints.
Therefor the steps to reproduced can be reduced to delete working set but do not delete breakpoints. Can be archived as described by Pawel by deselecting the "All breakpoints..." option or simply delete an empty working set.

The error dialog is produced from the used DeleteMarkersOperation. If any of the to be deleted markers is missing this message is shown. This includes the situation when no marker is to be deleted where the message is a bit misleading. Apparently no one but Debug tries to delete zero markers.

Another variant of this bug can be found with other breakpoint groupings where 'deleting' a group shows a confirmation to delete all breakpoints in group and can be answered with "No" to see the same error message.

Verified in Eclipse SDK

Version: 2020-09 (4.17)
Build id: I20200708-0600

Works as expected without false error dialog.
