Bug 344223

Summary: missing markers in feature.xml

Severity: normal

OS: Mac OS X - Carbon (unsup.)
Whiteboard: stalebug

Description Jeff McAffer CLA 2011-04-28 21:43:45 EDT
in i0427

- create a feature that *includes* specific versions of some other features
- adjust your target/workspace such that some of those included features are missing (may need to have alternative versions available, not sure)
- Notice that the feature.xml page in the editor does NOT show any markers on the included features but there are little yellow warning triangles beside the missing features in the Included Features list on the Included Features page.

This is somewhat misleading and inconsistent with other editors where users are confident that the raw text page shows all the problems while the GUI pages may or may not have markup.
Comment 1 Eclipse Genie CLA 2018-12-25 06:17:29 EST
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

Tested it, and it works in 2018-09: markers appear in GUI List, and in feature.xml Tab, Issue can be closed
