Jan, thanks for the contribution. A couple questions for Eclipse reasons:

1. You are the sole author of this contribution correct? We know you have permission to contribute to Eclipse.

2. This data is a reformat / derivation of the existing Earth Science data from NASA/NOAA in STEM? You did not source new data for this?

Matt, thanks. Answers below.

Yes. The submission includes updated data files and code changes to give proper access to the reformatted data.

Correct, I added additional measures (median, samplesize) to the data processing. I also fixed a bug in the calculation of skewness and kurtosis. The updated data files were created by re-processing the existing 2009 NASA data files in STEM.

No new data was sourced for this submission. However, I am now working on submitting similar data sets for years 2000-2008 and 2010.

The data in this contribution is covered under CQ 4467 NASA Earth Science Data.

Due to its size, the files are being communicated to us through other means (not as a patch) and will be committed as-is.

Thanks Jan!
