Bug 343671

Description Don Vaughn CLA 2011-04-22 16:27:53 EDT
Build Identifier: 20100617-1415

When making changes to the description of tasks from within the Task View (either by left-clicking on the description or by right-clicking the description->properties), the corresponding task comment in the resource file is left unchanged.

This causes a problem only when this resource file is later altered and saved, in which case the change made to the task from within the Task View is overwritten to whatever is in the resource file at save time (which may well be the old description). At this point there is no way of recovering the overwritten task.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Write a TODO somewhere, save this file (this is the resource file)
2. Go to Task View, alter the description for your new task
3. If you've closed your resource file open it
4. Change anything except for the task comment, save it
5. Your new task description has now been replaced by the old one

In which editor do you add the TODO comment? If I do this in the Java editor then the task is read-only and can't be edited in the Tasks view.

It was in the PHP editor. It is also read-only for me in the other editors.

hi Don,

The bug does not exist any more in PDT head version, because the PDT change the task to read-only and can't be edited in the Tasks view now.

Thanks for your reporting!
