What sorts of activities beyond comments would be included? I can think of the following:
* commits
* builds
* attachments
* creation of subtasks/reviews
* changes to attributes (e.g. Joel changed priority from P2 to P1)
* emails sent?

I think most of the time you would only want to see comments, and most of these other things should initially be filtered or collapsed somehow.

That's a pretty good list! When we discussed this one suggestion was to add filters that easily allow you to hide any of the artifact types.
