The fileClient JavaScript API currently has concepts of workspace and project in it. These should be removed into a separate script to make it easier for third parties to implement file clients exposing bare file access functionality.

I found fileClient's distinction between workspace, project, and folder to be confusing. It makes sense if you're connecting to the Orion server File API as a back end, but in other systems (WebDAV, S3) most of these concepts are not meaningful.

It would be more straightforward if a 'folder' was the only unit of containment in the API.
