Description

See bug 343220. Carries some of the same issues, though could be more workable for those diagram tools that already have some mechanism for assigning relationship (edge) importance level/ranking for auto-layout. For example in some graph layout programs such as graphvis the auto-layout is based on the order and type of relationships between nodes. But Zest doesn't support this in any of their layout algorithms, and I'd be a bit surprised if other Eclipse hosted tools did. This task should probably go in the "nice to have" heap unless there is a really compelling use case. Let's have some feedback on this one. If people are interested in seeing it move forward we're going to have to think through it quite a bit. I think everyone is pretty much agreed that the current solution trumps any layout based solution. Feel free to reopen if anyone would like to revisit. |
