Description DJ Houghton CLA 2011-04-18 17:21:47 EDT
In the latest 4.1 build I am performing operations on several thousand bundles/features and I am getting "Too many open files" errors. I've adjusted the osgi.bundlefile.limit property with no effect and after talking to Tom we don't think it is caused by the framework. So the next place to investigate is the publisher.

Two operations which seem to consistently reproduce this error are:
- installing the bundles via the drop-ins
- adding 2500 bundles to the includes list of a feature in the Feature Manifest editor

I'll try and debug and get more info, but wanted to enter this report in case others have had the same problem or might have suggestions.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
