Text, Spinner, ComboBox and DateTime text-fields are among the last widgets that have a really flat 2d-look. Ideally they would have an inset shadow, but those are not supported (yet) in RAP. The next best thing would be a gradient like this:

Fixed in CVS HEAD. All themes but classic now use gradients for text-widgets.
