Bug 342566

Summary: [Import/Export] Silent fail of importing project with same name as existing project with different capitalization
Product: [Eclipse Project] Platform Reporter: Ian Tewksbury <itewksbu>
Component: UIAssignee: Platform UI Triaged <platform-ui-triaged>
Status: CLOSED DUPLICATE QA Contact:
Severity: normal
Priority: P3 CC: bob.pfeiffer, daniel_megert, prakash
Version: 3.6.2
Target Milestone: ---
Hardware: PC
OS: Windows XP
Whiteboard:

Description Ian Tewksbury CLA 2011-04-12 09:55:50 EDT
SYSTEM: Windows XP

STEPS:
1. create a project named 'foobar' (all lower case)
2. add some new files to the project
3. export that project as a zip
4. delete the project from the workspace
5. create a new project named "FOOBAR" (all caps)
6. try to import the exported "foobar" project

RESULTS:
* the import dialog will not warn you that there is already a project in the workspace with that name
* you can click the finish button but then nothing happens, no error messages, no imported files, nothing

EXPECTED:
* an error message from the import dialog saying a project with that name already exists in the workspace
