This has been around since version 3.4 and still here in 3.5

Say I have two tasks A and B.

I have tabs split in two or three windows (or tab groups) associated with task A.
When I switch to task B and then back to A, all tabs are now bundled in one flat group, losing their previous layout state. This is rather annoying and makes me unwilling to use the "task" (or mylyn actually that much for that matter) because I would lose all my workspace context whenever I switch/activate tasks.

You can disable editor restore in the preferences under Mylyn > Context > Editors to work around this for the cost of losing automatic management of editor.

Thanks for notifying. I added my comments there.
As to the reply: if I disable "Manage open editors to match task context" - then there isn't much use of Mylyn ;) (I like/love to use Mylyn like I use SessionManager for Firefox, for example)
