Description Tobias Oberlies CLA 2011-04-01 00:34:57 EDT
In order to verify patches we contribute to p2, it should be possible to build Tycho against locally built binaries of p2.

I know that we had discussed more advanced ideas, but this really should be the first step to improve the efficiency of p2 contributions by Tycho committers/contributors. I guess the outcome of this will be documentation and/or some scripts.

FYI, I've been trying to setup local p2 3.6.2 build with only limited success so far... I have not given up yet, however.

I've figured out a way that works at least for smaller changes, e.g. to the publishers. It is now documented on http://wiki.eclipse.org/Developing_Tycho

I haven't tried to build all of p2 with Tycho (cf. bug 304594), but I've done at least some changes in p2 so that the publishers can be built.
