By default Synchronize will compare files locally against some branch on the server, this is already covered by "Compare with".

IMHO, the correct thing with DVCS would be to default to compare against the currently checked out version, just like gitk does.

You then get a list of files that are not yet committed.

Thinking about it that's what synchronize does for svn as well: it shows you what you have not yet committed.

Reproducible: Always

IMHO this is fixed by adding 'Synchronize Workspace' action. Can we close it?

I suppose.

My apologies for not being able to follow up more on this, but @ work I have abandoned EGit for now. It doesn't scale well to the projects I'm working on(10k files + ).

E.g. the cursor will lock up every few seconds as I edit files on large(or rather normal sized projects w/10k files).

My goal with EGit would be to get more people in the team to be comfortable using Git.

OK, so I'll close it.

Could you please open a separate bug for this issue?
