Description
Matthias Zimmermann
Based on our discussion at EclipseCon this year, I know that the Scout project wants to build a dedicated Scout EPP package and is willing to support this creation by taking over the role of the 'package maintainer' for this package. In order to help creating this package, I started to create a clone from the existing RCP/RAP package, removed the RAP part (for now...), and added the additional Scout features from the Indigo repository. I was too fast hitting the 'Save Changes' button... so here is the remaining part of the comment:
* Both, bundle org.eclipse.epp.package.scout and feature org.eclipse.epp.package.scout.feature have been added to the EPP CVS (technology: org.eclipse.epp/packages/...) and attached to this bug. These projects should be a starting point for future discussions.
* I added both Scout features from the Indigo repository: "org.eclipse.scout.sdk.feature" and "org.eclipse.scout.rt.feature". I didn't check whether this makes sense or not - needs to be reviewed by the Scout project.
* org.eclipse.epp.config/packages_map.txt and org.eclipse.epp.allpackages.indigo.feature/feature.xml updated
To be done:
- (Scout) provide an icon for the web site
- (Scout) review the bundle and the feature
- (Markus) create a EPP bugzilla component for the package
- (Markus) try to create a package with the above feature/bundle
- ...

Adding Nathan to CC - he needs to take care that the package icon finds its way to the correct location on the Foundation web server. "scout-package" Bugzilla component created in EPP. (Each package has its own component there.) Resolved as FIXED. Package is online. |
