Consider adding a 256x256 icon to the windows executable.

Do we have an eclipse image of this size already somewhere in the UI?  Not sure who would know this.

I don't know of a 256x256 icon in existence.
But I checked the foundation logo page (http://www.eclipse.org/artwork/)
and scaled an existing 360x360 down to 256x256.
Original file was 
http://www.eclipse.org/artwork/zip_files/eclipse_neg_logo_fc_med_bmp.zip

I think this would have to be added as a new format to the .ico file, I just don't recall the tools used for this part of the step.

Note that according to guidelines found on MSDN (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa511280.aspx#color), the 256px image should be stored as a .png rather than .bmp image. This will also save around 170K in the executable.

see bug 341645.  We should make sure the new artwork is incorporated in all the platform icons at the necessary sizes.

marking this bmp obsolete.  There has been some work done for a proper 256x256 app icon.
