Currently the type of an attribute can be shown when hovering the mouse over the attribute; however, it would be more intuitive if showing the type in the UI directly along with the attribute, like Address:address.

I agree that it would be better, but sometimes the type names are too long. and added to the attribute names, which could also be too long could make the entities too 'fat'.
