We are growing more and more persisted info, and I find it's getting harder to keep up with where everything is stored. It'd be nice to have a plugin that installed a "zap" command and did things like:

- clear localstorage
- clear whatever session storage/caches are used for preferences
- clear all plugins
- clear all cookies that Orion stores
- clear all dojo cookies relevant to Orion
- whatever other HTML5 storage goodies we might be using

etc...

That way, whenever you wake up in the morning and pull all the new stuff and your Orion is broken, you can just a push a button and know that you are not hosed by some cache somewhere (apart from your browser cache).

I can write such a plug-in but need to have a complete list of what we need to get rid of.

For cookies I could clear all cookies for the running server.

changing name because we might want this to be in the core vs. being structured as a plugin.

+1 (or is there another way to clear local storage on devices like iPad and iPhone?)

Fixed via Bug 348917 but in a different way
