A warning is given in the Eclipse Problems view when the persistence-unit-metadata element occurs in multiple mapping files within the same persistence unit; however, the warning is not showing up in sources anywhere so it's hard to know the problem and go to where the problem exactly exists.

There are many changes in the jpa_validation.properties file with this patch; however, there is only one entry (MAPPING_FILE_EXTRANEOUS_PERSISTENCE_UNIT_METADATA) changed comparing to the jpa_validation.properties in the proposed patch of bug 335741.
