When using M2Eclipse (v0.12.0.20101115-1102), using the action Maven-->Update snapshots, snapshots which are more recent on the Maven artifact server are not downloaded nor updated.

M2Eclipse is running in "online" mode (ie, Offline preference is unchecked).
Using the command line with Maven 2 (v2.0.10) works perfectly, so it does not look like its related to my settings.

My case, Bug 340164, involved releases too, not just snapshots.

Will this be ported to the m2e eclipse 1.x version? I have exactly the same problem, so if it has already been ported, I'll open a new bug.

m2e 1.x never updates snapshots automatically, you have to explicitly request this via right-client->maven->update_dependencies and select checkbox at the bottom of the dialog. If this does not update snapshots, please open new bugreport and provide exact steps to reproduce the problem.
