I normally use the Java EE perspective.  In my bottom panel, I have the Console view.  I often maximize this view so I can see more information.

After the update to 3.6.2, I appear to have lost the "Maximize" function in the bottom panel, but apparently only in the "Java EE" perspective.  It's there in the "Java" perspective.  It's also not there in the "Debug" perspective, but I don't know for sure whether it was there in 3.6.1.

In the "Java EE" perspective now, I have the "Minimize" and "Restore" functions, but not "Maximize".

I just checked another computer that is running 3.6.1, and it has a Maximize button in the bottom panel in the Java EE perspective.

Hmm.  Well, after taking the screenshot I realized there was one thing that I hadn't tried.  I just selected "Reset Perspective", and now I have the Maximize icon back.  I don't know what I could have done to make it go away.

Note that when I was in the state with no Maximize icon, if I tried to click the "Restore" icon, it wouldn't do anything.  The button would click, but it would come back as the Restore icon, not the Maximize icon.

I've now lost the Maximize button in the bottom panel again.  I had it back for a while after resetting the perspective, but now it's gone again.  Resetting the perspective lost some minor bits that I have to set up in my perspective, so resetting it is annoying.  On the other hand, it looks like I'm going to have to be doing that a lot :) , so I guess I'll find it easy to remember all the bits to set.

This time the fix didn't require resetting the perspective, it fixed itself by restarting Eclipse.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

If the bug is still relevant please remove the stalebug whiteboard tag.
